Orders Overview
Order
An Order is a set of collected samples that can be tested.
- Orders:
- Can contain one or many samples
- Can only contain one Test Type
- Can be associated with one Organization
- Can be associated with one Location
Order Type
Order Type defines what type of test is contained in the order
- Order Type is determined by what type of tests are in an order (Test Type)
Order ID
An Order ID is the unique name of a specific order in the system
Every Order has an Order ID
Order IDs are automatically assigned by the system
- The ID contains the date of the order and the number of samples contained within the order

Order Status
Order Status represents the current state of an Order
- Useful for transport logistics and task tracking purposes
Examples:
| Order Status | Explanation |
|---|---|
| In Progress | Samples have been collected, but not all have results |
| Completed | All tests in the order have been completed |
| Cancelled | The order has been cancelled |
